The Use of Stories in the Language Teaching at the Primary School

The diploma thesis is focused on the use of stories in language teaching in primary school, especially the Czech language. The theoretical part contains basic information about the method of telling stories, storytelling, its possible use in the Czech language and experience with this method in teaching the English language. To work with stories in Czech language classes, the storytelling method is included in the Framework Educational Program for basic education, both in terms of student outcomes and competencies that could be developed in classes using storytelling. The work is devoted to the process of selecting and creating a story, its placement in children's literature and the criteria that should be met for the story to be accepted by pupils. The space is dedicated to the application itself in the teaching unit and to the offer of specific methods and exercises enabling the inclusion of storytelling in teaching. The work deals with the very process of creating a story based on the listed words for the 4th grade, describing the progress of the teaching unit as well as the reaction of the pupils in the lesson, and the preparation of the control test and evaluation. This diploma thesis deals with the topic of cross-curricular relationships between civics and geography in elementary school education. The aim of this work is to provide an overview of these interdisciplinary relations between both educational fields. This was achieved through a content analysis of the thematic units of the curriculum presented in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Based on the obtained data, the author designed eight model teaching units that were put into practice. Individual teaching units were subsequently evaluated. The main contribution of this work is finding numerous compatibility between both fields, which can be used in everyday pedagogical practice.
Nutritional behaviors of adolescents and their knowledge as a result of lower secondary education

The thesis focuses on eating habits of adolescents and their knowledge of nutrition. In the theoretical part, the bio-psycho-social development of growing up individuals is characterized. From the nutritional behaviour's point of view, factors are mentioned that may influence eating habits of individuals along with nutritional recommendations for adolescent individuals. Data from research focused on nutritional behaviour of adolescents conducted in Czech republic and the consequences of insufficient and excessive nutrition is included into the theoretical part. The last part clarifies the implementation of nutritional themes into the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education and education programmes and projects focusing on supporting healthy eating habits intended for schools. Goal of the practical part is to map the eating habits and knowledge of eight and ninth grade second stage students of three primary schools in Prague and third and fourth grade students of two grammar schools. To test this goal, the quantitative approach of questionnaire survey and qualitative methods of analysis of school curricula were used. Tourist Attraction in Teaching of Geography at Primary School: Case Study Kolín

Sixtová, M. (2011): Tourist attractions in teaching of geography at primary school: case study Kolín. Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, Charles University in Prague. The presented bachelor thesis is concerned with teaching local region issues. The theoretical approach is provided by examination of literature related to tourism and by analysis of curricular documents of state and school level. In the next part of the thesis, there are presented selected tourist attractions whose inclusion into teaching geography was monitored at primary schools in Kolín. At these schools, there was realized questionnaire survey among pupils as well as among teachers of geography. These teachers also participated in controlled interview which deals with a concept of teaching local region issues. On the basis of gained knowledge, there was devised school geography project, which is focused on application of tourist attractions into teaching local region issues.
Introduction of acting lessons to school education plan in a small school

My diploma thesis deals with the implementation of drama education as a separate subject in the school system after 1990 and characterizes the transformation of schools, the changes in teacher training after 1990 and describes alternative schools that are important for changing the way of teaching in the school system. I also deal with the curriculum of the framework educational program, the characteristics of the school educational plan, drama education and small schools. In the practical part I describe the conditions for the implementation of drama education in the school curriculum of a small school and three ways how to implement this subject. As part of my work, I created a survey of parents' opinions and an interview with the principal to find out what the awareness of drama education is and whether there is an interest in it. I present the research results in the appendices. At the end of the thesis I summarized my research at a small school and the implementation of drama education in the school curriculum, it also contains a list of what is needed for such implementation and what was the result of my efforts at Kindergarden and Elementary school in Suchodol. Possibilities of Distance Teaching the Czech Language at Primary School

The diploma thesis is focused on the search for opportunities for distance learning of the Czech language at primary schools. The aim of the work is to deal in detail and find out how distance learning of the Czech language takes place at primary schools and what is the level of adoption of teaching among pupils who are learning a distance form of study. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with a general treatise of primary education and education. It also briefly characterizes the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Then it analyzes distance education in detail, briefly defines communication tools and in the end summarizes the subject Czech language and its teaching. The practical part contains two research surveys, which are structured in detail. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. In the first research survey, it finds out the effectiveness of Czech language distance education at selected primary schools in specific grades of primary school. It also characterizes the work of a teacher in online Czech language lessons. Didactic processing of the theme European Union for teaching at lower secondary school

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of integration of the Czech republic to the European Union and its teaching in civic education at lower secondary school. By the initial analysis of the work I will set down the most important outcomes in curriculum the task of the didactic procedures. The topic is represented in the educational area Man in Society and in the cross- curricural subject Education Towards Thinking in European and Global Contexts contained in Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Suggestions of didactic procedures are the main part of the thesis. They will follow the pupils' own experience and they should help them to realize the ifluence of membership in the European Union on their everyday life. Each topic begins with an introduction of the issue, which contains a brief theoretical background of the topic. The thesis will present selected actual problem solved at the European level, students will be led to critical thinking and expressing their own attitude based on orientation in legal and social aspects. The thesis will contain information background for teachers and specific didactic materials for pupils.

Irena Hanyš Holemá, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis deals with the use of drama education in classes of literary education in the 2nd grade of elementary school. It compares two second classes at elementary school to understanding the main idea in fairy tales through dramatic education and the method of reading with questions. The theoretical part is focused on drama education, its methods, techniques, preparátory games and exercises, Framework Educational Program and literary education. The basis of the practical part was the realization of 5 lessons in dramatic education and 5 lessons of literary education in two second classes on 5 fairy tales with lessons. After 14 days, a test was conducted to determine whether dramatic education contributed in literary classes to improving and understanding the substance.
